Danial & Sam’s Middleton Lodge wedding

Intro:
Danial & Sam wanted somewhere that felt luxurious without losing its warmth, and Middleton Lodge was the answer. The gardens, the Georgian architecture and the relaxed atmosphere suited them perfectly. Throughout the day there were fresh flowers, easy conversation and plenty of those unplanned moments I love to capture.

Words from the couple

“We wanted photos that felt natural rather than staged, and that’s exactly what we got. Fred was calm, friendly and always one step ahead.”

Words from the photographer
“Danial & Sam had clear ideas about the look and feel of their day, and I loved working with that. They wanted unposed, honest images with a little editorial polish for portraits. Middleton Lodge is a gift for light, with its soft garden tones, warm brick and quiet corners.”

Wedding story

Best moment or memory
Stepping out into the garden after the ceremony and seeing everyone we love in one place.

Something different
We swapped traditional favours for seed packets so guests could grow their own flowers at home.

Venue: Middleton Lodge, Middleton Tyas, North Yorkshire

Wedding wear

Sam: A minimalist silk dress with a lace-trimmed veil”
Danial: A light black suit with a pale blue tie and a buttonhole from the garden”

Styling and personal touches

A fresh palette of cream, soft yellow and garden greens echoed the setting. Long tables with seasonal flowers, linen napkins and handwritten menus gave it a refined but relaxed feel.

Ceremony and readings

A heartfelt ceremony with personal vows, a reading from Sam’s best friend and a guest sing-along that nobody expected.
